Roger and Susie's Travels Well this weekend I left for Gold River for our annual 2 day golf tourney fisherman's club Stuart got to go to car races at Saratoge beach that were crash to pass  plus added excitement with cars pulling boats behind them. Our friend John took him because I was in Gold River. Then off to camp for a week Susie had to drop him off. Susie says all the people were glad to see him again ( he always has a good time there ) any way I had a wonderful time golfing Saturday I shot 118 and won 7 skins (35 bucks) at the end of the day we all had steak barbecue at the golf club (14.95 but well worth it) after that a group of the guys asked if we wanted to play horse racing for three holes. hole 1/2 and 9 (I have never done this but I was game) the idea behind this is you take a high handy cap player and pair him with a low handy cap player and they be come partners ( there was about 20 of us that participated) every body stands there while each one of the partners tees off then the other partner will shoot the ball next and so own the kicker is you all only aloud 2 clubs and no putter so when you get on the green you maybe putting with a 7 iron or you driving woods what ever 2 clubs you have chosen ( what a pile of fun )At the motel that we were all staying at we had a porker game (Texas holdem to cap the evening )  The next day we started at (9:30 AM) They do what they call a shot gun start there is about 9 groups so we all get on the course at the same time at different holes then blast the air horn and we all start golfing (Sunday I did okay I shot 112 and got 5 skins) this a lot of info for people that are not familiar with the game hope I didn't bore you but I am still learning and having a wonderful time I never thought that being retired would be this much fun and I am busier then I have ever been

  2. How wonderful that you are enjoying your golfing. You have come along quite a bit since last year and it shows in your description of the game. Thanks for sharing and for the photos.
